Dualization of Sheikupura - Gujranwala Road

Project Description

The proposed road offtakes from Pir Bahar Shah Chowk, Sheikhupura and leads towards Gujranwala. This is an important road that connects two main cities Sheikhupura - Gujranwala. It also crosses Motorway (M-2) 4 km from Sheikhupura. The heavy traffic from Jhang, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi is plying on the road and vice versa. The length of the road falling in district Sheikhupura is 14.69 km out of which 4 km has already been dualized from Pir Bahar Shah Chowk to Motorway. In view of the present traffic i.e., 15,750 VPD on this section, it was proposed to be dualized from Motorway to Gujranwala to provide a smooth flow of traffic without any congestion and hazards.
