Mr. Amjad Ali Awan

Amjad Ali Awan is a senior government functionary as well as a policy and development specialist, with vast experience in performing leadership roles in government boards and corporate entities for more than two decades. He has a rich and diversified academic background in Engineering, Public Policy, Management, and Business, spanning institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University in the United States, as well as the Universities of Lancaster and Birmingham in the United Kingdom. With his civil service background, he has played key roles in successfully executing government policies in areas including Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), Energy, Power Sector IPPs, Infrastructure, and Urban Development.

Besides serving the Punjab PPP Authority as CEO, he has also served as CEO of the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) in the Ministry of Energy, as Managing Director of STEDEC Technology Commercialization Corporation of Pakistan with the Federal Government, and most recently as Chairman of the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), Government of Punjab. In these mainstream roles, he has to his credit multiple success stories, including spearheading a record deployment of renewable energy projects in the history of Pakistan, as well as establishing and managing sustainable and integrated waste management models in the cities of Faisalabad and Lahore.
